Frequently Asked Questions

We do! All waste generated by the tree work we carry out is taken away from site. We use our wood chipper to mulch the arisings and this is taken directly to our yard where it is processed in to compost and re used on a local farm as fertiliser. Occasionally customers require the wood chip to be used on flower beds to suppress weed growth, or on paths. Just let us know what you require.  Any thing that we can’t chip because it’s too big is either taken to our yard and left to season for processing in to firewood, or chipped by a large biomass wood chipper and recycled. We try to be as green as possible at Broadleaf Tree Surgery And everything is done in as efficient a manner as possible to reduce our carbon footprint. If you require the wood from your job to be left for you to use as firewood that’s no problem either we will even cut it up and stack it for you! And just for some extra peace of mind we are fully licensed and regulated to carry waste and dispose of it.
Due to the very nature of our industry it would be very hard and some might say a bit unprofessional for us to try and give a price over the phone. We will always insist on a site visit before we can give you a price, and unlike many companies we don’t give an estimate we give a quotation that is non changeable. That way you know there isn’t any unexpected hidden costs lurking around the corner. More often than not we can give you a price on site and then we will follow this up within 24-hours with a formalised quotation. We are regulated by trading standards and follow there guidelines, we champion the rights of our customers.

Tree surgery is dangerous industry. More often than not we work in confined spaces and with dangerous equipment. We understand the need for peace of mind and our insurances cover us up to 5 million pounds. Check out our insurance brokers here we can work at any height and with all of the equipment we have.  We have a 100% safety record.
As a professional company we perform local authority checks on each and everyone of our jobs. We have been dealing with local councils for years and have plenty of experience on where conservation areas are and what is and isn’t allowed. Trees are sometimes subject to a tree preservation order (TPO) This can be for many reasons.  Trees are an asset and contribute hugely to an areas bio diversity and also provide an area with a certain level of aesthetic appeal. Many village centres are within a conservation area and many old and large, or particularly important trees are covered by a TPO.  We don’t charge to do the planning applications/paperwork required and can offer advice on what is best for the ongoing management of your trees so you can sit back and relax.
